We use this Black PLA inside of our print farms. It prints great. This is a great option for smaller spool sizes.

The filament is produced in a facility with very low humidity (<20%, benefit of Idaho Climate). It will be vaccuum-sealed. And it will arrive on 3x1 KG spools that are compatible with most printers.

But hopefully this allows you to purchase filament without having to leave YouTube. That way, you can keep binging design videos and know that your filament is on the way.

So what is this all for? Well, in order for 3D Printing to continue to grow as a mass production technology, the cost of materials needs to decrease. Thats why we started Tangled Filament.

We believe it is possible for a U.S. manufacturer to make good quality filament for $10/kg. But, it will take a lot of small optimizations to get there. Luckily, we know a bit about making filament; we have been making it for our own 3D printing farms for years. But now we have started, very carefully, taking that production and turning it into a consumer product.

This increase in production allows us to drastically reduce our material costs within our print farms. We are then able to pass that savings on to our Tangled customers and sell the filament basically at-cost.

From there, we are continuing to optimize our production and further drive the price down, with a goal of reaching $10/kg filament. So far we've achieved a 30% reduction in price, starting at $22/kg and reaching our current price of $15/kg. 

But, Tangled Filament is about more than just offering cheap 3D printing filament, it's about creating a low-cost raw material supply chain that allows Mass Production 3D Printing to compete with traditional manufacturing processes.
